Congratulations Varsity Volleyball Team

1st Volleyball District Championship for Lawrence On Thursday
The Lawrence Volleyball Team brought home the first District Championship in school history. The Lady Tigers put forth a total team effort and handled Gobles in three straight games. This culminated the Tigers second championship in less than a week, as the won the SAC tournament last Saturday. Their season record now stands at 23-17. The girls advance to Regional play at White Pigeon on Tuesday, November 10, at 7:30 p.m. Good Luck, ladies!!

On Saturday October 31st, The varsity volleyball team played a day of amazing volleyball! It started out with a game with Fennville. The Lady Tigers had no problem with them at all. The next game of the day was to face one of the top seeds of the north, Gobles. The Lady Tigers came out extremely strong against Gobles and took them in 2 sets. That win then placed the Lady Tigers in the semi's against Lawton. The first set against Lawton was close and the Lady Tigers had a hard time holding on. After that set the Lady Tigers were not ready to go home yet, they ended up taking the next 2 sets to defeat Lawton. That win put them into the Championship game against the other number one seed of the north, Bloomingdale. The Lady Tigers were determined that they were not going to go home without that win and they did it in 3 sets!

Fear the Roar!!! That was the call as the Lawrence Tiger Varsity Basketball Team (24-2) “Roared” their way to the SAC South Championship, the District Championship, the Regional Championship and a Quarter-final title before bowing out of the MHSAA semifinals game against a 24-1 Cedarville squad. The team would like to thank the Lawrence students, faculty, administration and the Lawrence community for the tremendous support given the team throughout the year. The sea of purple and white at the games was a sight to behold.

Athletic Boosters

Lawrence Athletic Booster's have been raising money for more than 31 years to help support Lawrence athletics.

Projects funded by the Boosters:

• New backboards in the high school gym 08-09
• Outdoor batting cages for both the softball and baseball teams.
• Sprinkler system for the football field.
• Equipment for the elementary sports program.
• New team uniforms for high school cheerleaders

Money is raised through concessions and 50/50 drawings at Lawrence athletic contest.  We always welcome new members.  The boosters meet the first Monday of each month, at 6:30  pm.  For more information about the athletic boosters contact the high school 674-8232 or talk to one of the booster members.
