Band

The mission of the Band Boosters is to serve and support the Lawrence Public School’s students’ musical development to its highest potential through the leadership of the Director of Music.  Our purpose is to provide guidance on policy issues and other matters as requested or needed by the director.  We provide support to students enrolled in the instrumental music program as well as provide support to the director in the quest to improve and enhance the musical department.  The Lawrence bands are an integral part of the school and the Lawrence community.

The Jr./Sr. band provides enthusiasm and entertainment at sporting events, community parades, dedications and what would graduation be without “Pomp and Circumstance?”

The Band Boosters raise funds for many important functions.  We buy instruments for the school and help keep them in good repair.  We help students who have trouble covering the various costs.  We pay entrance fees for various festival and competitions.  Field trips are an important part of the musical development of our students.  We fund our annual attendance at the WMU Marching Band Concert and other trips to play at competitions and trips which widen the musical background of our students.

To raise funds for these activities, The boosters sell citrus fruit and  poinsettia plants each year at reasonable costs.

Band Booster meetings are held the first Wednesday of each  month at 7:00 p.m. in the band room.  Everyone interested in the Lawrence music program is encouraged to attend.
