March Message
Please see the new Jr / Sr High Newsletter on the main menu for current weekly events at LHS! The latest newsletter includes the Spring Sports Schedule and a congratulatory message to our tech center students who made the National Technical Honor Society. Since my last posting in February, we've made it through ACT / MME and our younger students are now preparing to take the Explore and Plan tests. Our number one priority is maximizing teaching and learning in our school. These tests not only tell our students precisely where they are in their learning, the tests help guide our instruction as we look to improve where needed. We strive daily to evaluate where we are and where we want to be and these tests play a big part in that. The students have worked hard to prepare and are doing their level best on the exams.
Our 8th graders have been truly achieving in the area of school culture too! We recently held semester competitions in school spirit and classroom attendance. The 8th graders won both competitions! They wore college gear with the greatest regularity on Mondays and showed more purple pride than all the rest on Fridays. Additionally, this fine group of young people had the lowest tardy percentage in the building through the end of February! Their dedication has earned them a Subway Spirit Lunch with me and an Amore's "on-time" Pizza Lunch from Mr. Adams... Well done 8th graders...
Together, we will Empower. We will Inspire. We will Challenge. With great change comes great opportunity, and we here at LHS embrace every opportunity!
Sincerely,
Mr. Duane R. Fish
