Lawrence Athletics is proud to announce the 2026 Hall of Fame Class.
The six inductees are:
• Richard Marconi (Class of 1962)
• John Marconi (Class of 1967)
• David Van Zoeren (Class of 1980)
• Mindy (Houser) Fernando (Class of 1996)
• Shayne Whittington (Class of 2009)
• 1961–62 Boys Basketball Team
We invite everyone to join us on January 16th as we officially induct this outstanding group into the Lawrence Athletics Hall of Fame. The induction ceremony will take place following the Girls Varsity Basketball game and prior to the Boys Varsity Basketball game, which are scheduled for 5:30 PM (Girls) and 7:00 PM (Boys).
All H.O.F members and families will receive free admission to the games as well as the celebration with each other that will take place in the library before the boys basketball game.
We look forward to celebrating the achievements and legacy of our Hall of Fame honorees.
A tutor will be available twice a week; specific days will be announced soon.
If you have signed up, please be there and ready!
If you did not have a chance to sign up, but would like to play, please join us!
Players need to bring practice clothes, a water bottle, and gym/basketball shoes.
Lawrence will take the court at Little Caesars Arena on New Year’s Day for a Girls and Boys Varsity Doubleheader.

Lawrence Public Schools will be applying lawn treatment campus-wide on Saturday October the 4th 2025. The treatment will include fertilizer, weed and grub control. The front lawns and all sport fields will be treated. Please note that all practices and field use will need to take place in an alternative location on October the 4th 2025

Dear Lawrence Families,
Each year in Michigan, school districts are required to take an official “Count Day.” This day is one of the most important of the school year, as it determines the number of students enrolled and attending, which directly impacts how much funding Lawrence Public Schools will receive for the year. The 25-26 Fall Count Day is Wednesday, Oct 1st.
The state uses this enrollment count to calculate per-pupil funding. While the exact amount has not yet been finalized, our district’s ability to provide high-quality educational opportunities depends on every student being counted. Quite simply, every student’s presence on Count Day makes a difference for our schools.
In addition to attendance, families can also help us secure critical resources by completing the Household Information/Benefits Form (provided to your student and it will be available at Parent/Teacher Conferences). This form collects important household data that may qualify our district for additional state and federal funding. These funds support programs that benefit all students, including classroom resources, support services, and student opportunities.
