Meet Day!

LPS Families,
We recognize the vital role before/after school care plays for working families, and LPS remains dedicated to offering this service for the 25–26 school year. However, due to recent changes in grant funding allocations, our partner for before/after school care, the YDC, has been required to make adjustments for the upcoming school year.

A new sign to welcome in a new year at Lawrence Jr/Sr High School is a beacon of excitement and possibility!
A huge thank you to Lawrence Township for funding this state-of-the-art LED sign that now proudly marks our main rear entrance, used for most sporting, band, and extracurricular events.
This wonderful addition not only enhances our school's visibility but also serves as a reminder to visiting schools that they are entering Tiger Territory, where excellence and school spirit thrive!

Please Note: Lawrence Board of Education has scheduled a special board meeting for Monday, June 23, 2025 at 4:00 P.M. in the Jr./Sr. High Library.

Dear LPS Families and Community Members,
We are excited to share some important news with you: Mr. Brock Thumm has been selected as the new K-12 Principal for Lawrence Public Schools.
This decision reflects our ongoing commitment to ensuring a strong, stable, and supportive learning environment for all students. As we make this transition, we want to assure you that our focus remains on what matters most—supporting students, families, and staff and providing a safe environment for learning. .
Mr. Thumm brings a deep passion for education and a proven track record of service-driven leadership. He is widely recognized as an excellent communicator, a skilled problem solver, and a builder of positive school culture. Just as importantly, he is looking forward to becoming deeply engaged in and connected to our local community.
The guidance of the interview committee was reliant on the result of the community and staff survey regarding our K-12 vacancy and what qualities stakeholders value most in a school leader identified the following: someone who communicates clearly, is accessible and supportive, builds strong relationships, and manages student behavior effectively. Mr. Thumm reflects all of these qualities and is well-prepared to lead our schools with heart, purpose, and professionalism.
We are committed to open and clear communication as Mr. Thumm steps into this role, and we’re confident he will quickly become a familiar and trusted presence in the lives of our students and families.
Please join us in warmly welcoming Mr. Thumm to Lawrence Public Schools. We look forward to the leadership and care he will bring to our district, and to the continued success of our students under his guidance.

Lawrence 4th, 5th and 6th grades were selected for a free field trip to the annual STEM fair, lunch and Growlers game!! It was a day filled with perfect baseball weather and the students had an unforgettable experience that will inspire them for years to come!
