Count Day: Wednesday, Oct 1
Dear Lawrence Families,

Each year in Michigan, school districts are required to take an official “Count Day.” This day is one of the most important of the school year, as it determines the number of students enrolled and attending, which directly impacts how much funding Lawrence Public Schools will receive for the year. The 25-26 Fall Count Day is Wednesday, Oct 1st.

The state uses this enrollment count to calculate per-pupil funding. While the exact amount has not yet been finalized, our district’s ability to provide high-quality educational opportunities depends on every student being counted. Quite simply, every student’s presence on Count Day makes a difference for our schools.

In addition to attendance, families can also help us secure critical resources by completing the Household Information/Benefits Form (provided to your student and it will be available at Parent/Teacher Conferences). This form collects important household data that may qualify our district for additional state and federal funding. These funds support programs that benefit all students, including classroom resources, support services, and student opportunities.

If you have not already done so, please complete the Benefits Form linked above and email the form to Jenny Romero (jennyromero@lawrencetigers.org). Your effort ensures we can continue to provide the very best education and opportunities for every Lawrence student.

Your partnership has a direct impact on the success of Lawrence Public Schools. Thank you for helping us continue to grow and thrive together.

LPS Families,
We recognize the vital role before/after school care plays for working families, and LPS remains dedicated to offering this service for the 25–26 school year. However, due to recent changes in grant funding allocations, our partner for before/after school care, the YDC, has been required to make adjustments for the upcoming school year.

A new sign to welcome in a new year at Lawrence Jr/Sr High School is a beacon of excitement and possibility! A huge thank you to Lawrence Township for funding this state-of-the-art LED sign that now proudly marks our main rear entrance, used for most sporting, band, and extracurricular events. This wonderful addition not only enhances our school's visibility but also serves as a reminder to visiting schools that they are entering Tiger Territory, where excellence and school spirit thrive!
